The Park

Built in the waters in front of the Greeks Ruins, south of the Falcomatà  seaside walk in Reggio Calabria, the Park is located near to the Greek Walls and Roman Thermae and close to the remains of the ancient walls of Reghion.

Visitors can enter the site right from the seaside or diving from a boat. The Park is about 500 squared meters wide, from the seashore down to about 12 meters.

The marine archaeological park is delimited but buoys which can be seen also during night-time. Under the surface the scuba walk is marked by white ropes divers will be able to follow by sight or touch. Along the path there are:

the underwater walk, which includes items that could be dated back to Roman age and XVII Century and has been closely monitored and overseen by the Magna Grecia National Museum of Reggio Calabria. In the following phase, scuba volunteers have developed specific skills in order to be able to guide the visitors – as modern scuba ”Cicero” – with unique skills among the national scuba experts.

The Calarcheo Site owns specific goals:

Divers with disabilities will be able to enter the site directly from the seaside avenue running by the beach. Main enter will be highlighted by two signals holding info about the site, the activities and contacts reference to Scuba Point Reggio Calabria.
